He-Be Buffay
He-Be Buffay is the dumbest girl you know, in the best way.
If you could describe He-Be in three words they would be silly, fun, and muppety (is Muppety a word? Who cares!) She grew up for 28 years in Worcester Massachusetts, finding an interest in doing drag around the time of drag race season 5 but never really dabbled until a few years later. Once she moved to Pittsburgh, PA in September 2017 she decided to dive head first into the hobby and He-Be Buffay was born. She is currently one of the hosts of Elements monthly Open Stage, which usually has a kooky theme attached so queens of the city of all experience levels can exercise their creative muscle.
He-Be considers herself pretty well rounded when it comes to performance, having a love for dancing that ranges from house style to tutting fostered by her time in the New England rave scene and also knows how to perform with a hula hoop, spin poi and use a levistick.
In terms of look/performance inspiration He-Be is heavily inspired by video games, anime, cartoons and shows like The Muppets. She feels most comfortable embodying herself in a character and having a field day with concepts. Examples include Bob from Bobs Burgers, Courage from Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz, Velma from Scooby Doo, and Mr. Krabs from Spongebob. Using a combination of sound clips from these shows, a character trope to exaggerate, copious usage of absurd body language and an tight lip sync she's one to make the audience just want to have fun. Oh and puns, do NOT forget the puns, that's a punishable offence!
He-be Buffay is overall just a queen who wants to vibe and have fun with an audience that wants the same. From comedy numbers to straight forward ones she knows how to keep the energy up! After all, everybody loves a Buffay!
